The Todo School's Spoon Sports Honda Civic Type R (EK9) Demo Car, also known simply as the Civic, the Type R or the EK9, is the Todo School's demonstration car, most famously driven by Tomoyuki Tachi. It is the third and last Honda Civic seen in the series.

History[]

The Todo School's demonstration car was a Spoon Sports tuned Honda Civic Type R EK9, it was considered a monster by many of the students because of its considerable power and speed.

Before the Todo School's first round of battles against Project D, the headmaster Todo and ex-student Tomoyuki Tachi both ask Daiki Ninomiya if he will use the demo car in his race, instead of his own EK9. Daiki declines, believing that the demo car would give him too much of an advantage.

After the Todo School's defeat, Tomoyuki returns to battle against Project D, choosing to use the demo car against them. He is put up against Takumi Fujiwara, the same person who had defeated Daiki. Takumi takes the lead at the beginning of the battle. Tomoyuki manages to overtake in a hairpin, much to Takumi's surprise. The two cars reach the turn around point with very little distance between them, leaving the spectators shocked that Tachi hadn't left Takumi in his dust. The two drivers enter a tunnel, with only Tachi being visible when they exit. Unbeknownst to Tachi, Takumi had performed a new technique he had invented, the Blind Attack, where he turns off his headlights and disappears. Takumi takes advantage of this, allowing him to pass Tachi from the inside of a corner. Tachi retakes his lead in the hairpins, however Takumi manages to stay close to the EK9, performing another blind attack in the straightaway. Tachi doesn't make the same mistake, and ignores the fact that he can't see his opponent. Takumi and Tachi enter a corner at the same time, with Takumi turning his lights back on just as Tomoyuki stops to avoid hitting a cat. Takumi pulls ahead and wins the race.
